ABOUT

CW Media UK & Ireland - a passion for working great brands

I have over 15 years experience in the world of PR - working with household names, top agencies, businesses and individuals.

My media career began 20 years ago as a journalist (I won The Guardian newspaper's Scott Trust Bursary) which took me from regional press to 'Fleet Street', working in both news rooms and on features desks - fine-tuning my editorial skills to a huge array of audiences.

After going freelance, I was asked by an ad agency contact if I would help on a major brand campaign. I agreed and to my own surprise (as a dyed in the wool hack!) took to copywriting, PR and media relations instantly.

I then set up CW Media UK & Ireland and I've gone on to work with some of the very best brands and agencies in the UK, Ireland/Europe and USA. I work flexibly: as a freelance/retained consultant or as an interim member of the team.

Thanks to my background as a journalist, I have a robust understanding of what does and doesn't work when dealing with both the public and press. I 'speak their language' and have often worked in their newsrooms.

As a PR specialist I'm able to compliment this by recognising the importance of communicating a client's key message effectively and hopefully with some imagination and creativity.

Away from the office, I'm a bit of a 'culture vulture' and you may spot me on the BBC chatting about anything from the current affairs to entertainment. I continue to write professionally (and for fun - I have my own lifestyle digital mag/blog). I also love yoga, am a foodie (!), and I've a passion for studying human nature (I've trained in psychology including IFS therapy). I love comedy, film and theatre too.
